Lift Your Legacy Podcast with Rabbi Jacob Rupp

Jan 16, 2018

Daniel Gefen previously appeared on the show, sharing his success story in creating the Can I Pick Your Brain podcast and many of the valuable lessons he’s learned along the way.

In this week’s special episode, we dig into some of the deeper concepts that pushed Daniel to write his debut book, The Self Help Addict: Turn An Overdose Of Information Into A Life Of Transformation, and what that process looked like for him.

Daniel describes the process of actualizing potential both internally and externally and how that can take on many different forms. Through the lens of his own self-help addiction, he contemplates what it means to remain in stasis and how such non-action on its own is worthless.

In contrast, he also explores the negatives of perpetual growth and how we can lose ourselves in the search for improvement. By finding balance within the duality of “being” and “becoming,” one can actualize themselves both personally and in business, without losing themselves.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  1. What a self help addict looks like and why it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
  2. The power of action, no matter how small.
  3. How to transform a “feeling” of impassivity to one of active engagement.
